Our Chapter was established in 1959 and has been serving the needs of the building and development services communities within the San Joaquin Valley ever since. We welcome all who want to learn more about building and construction products and the associated code requirements to our monthly meetings and we encourage you to become a member and be a part of our organization. We do not require that you be affiliated with any local building department or other governmental agency. We encourage you to support our organization through regular attendance and by taking advantage of our many training opportunities.

Our membership consists of Plans Examiners, Building Inspectors, Code Enforcing Officers, Fire Officials, Engineers, Architects and Contractors.

May– Steggo Industries - In person Meeting.  Time: May 12, 2022 11:00 AM Pacific Time (US and Canada)

Aaron Hill, Central California Regional Manager, Steggo Industries

Steggo Vapor Barriers
Installing a high-performance vapor barrier or vapor retarder is an essential component of the construction process. For this reason, industry standard ASTM E1643 was created to reduce errors and help the installation process run smoothly. Referenced in the vast majority of commercial project specifications, this standard specifies the correct installation procedures and gives the inspector and installer a set of guidelines to follow. If adhered to, this standard will help protect concrete and floor coverings from moisture vapor migration throughout the life of the building.

Learning Objectives:

  • Codes, standards, and industry expectations are ever changing. Our goal is to em-power code officials to be abreast of current codes, standards and revisions, how those standards translate into specifications, and what that means at the construction site. We hope to become an information resource
to code officials, should they ever have questions about current industry standards, uses, placement, and installation of below-slab vapor barriers.
